Upgrade to the next generation method of sharing files using links through CloudFiles
CloudFiles offers many security features that allow you to share your documents securely. You can take the link offline, pre-define link expiration, disable pdf download, require password, email or login to access the file and more...
Activate / De-activate the Link
You can disable / enable the file link with a single click. CloudFiles provides a simple toggle switch. Your clients will not be able to access / download the files once the link has been taken offline. This switch is located on the link settings screen as shown in the image below
Disable File Download
You can disable file download using the Allow Downloading Switch on the Link Settings Screen. This is shown in the image below. Once you disable downloading, the client will not see the download button on the CloudFiles viewer.
Require Email (Soft Validation)
With soft-validation, your client will need to enter an email address to access the file. Please note that this information is not verified by CloudFiles (that's why the name soft-validation). If you require email verification, refer to the Hard Validation feature below.
You can learn more about CloudFiles' Soft Validation here.
Require Login (Hard Validation)
With hard-validation, your client will need to enter and verify an email address to access the file. Verification can be done in a number of ways. Client can either login through Google or Microsoft account or they can get a one-time verification code on their email.
You can learn more about CloudFiles' Hard Validation here.
Restrict Access to List of Emails / Domains
Although Soft and Hard Validation serve most of the security use-cases by identifying the user viewing the file, sometimes you may want only certain people or people from certain companies to have access to the file. You can do this by providing a list of emails or domains that are allowed for soft / hard ID Validation. Once you set it, CloudFiles will check the entered / logged-in email ID. If it matches the list criteria specified, only then file access will be enabled.
This tutorial shows how to enter a list of emails / domains while setting ID Validation.
Password Protection
This is an upcoming feature where you can pre-set a text password and require your client to enter that password in order to access the file. You can currently use soft-validation as a workaround for this. To get release date and stay up-to-date on this feature, you can subscribe to our newsletter or just write to us.
Link Expiration
This is an upcoming feature where you will be able to expire the link based on number of views / time spent / pre-defined date etc... In order to expire your links right now, you need to manually de-activate them from the Link Settings Download.
