In this article we cover the required and optional steps to setup the CloudFiles integration with your Salesforce account
CloudFiles is a highly customizable & deeply integrated file sharing solution for Salesforce users. You can get started with it within a few minutes and additionally also customize it to further your goals.
In this article we talk about the following steps to install & setup the app

Step 1. Installing from Marketplace
Follow the 4 steps below to install CloudFiles in your Salesforce account (production or sandbox)
- Log into Salesforce as a Salesforce Admin.
- Go to the CloudFiles listing on the Salesforce App Exchange, and click on Get It Now.
- Follow the prompts to install either in production or in a sandbox.
- At separate points during the installation, the installer prompts you to:
- Accept and Approve Third-Party Access for remote settings.
- Grant access to "Admins Only".
- Click Next or Continue in other screens to complete the installation.
Great. Now that we have the initial installation out of the way, we can start adding CloudFiles components.
Step 2. Connecting CloudFiles Account
Follow the steps below to automatically create and connect a CloudFiles account to your installation
- Search for CloudFiles in the App Launcher and select it
- Click on Setup Tab
- Click on "Setup CloudFiles' button and follow on-screen instructions as shown below
That's all the setup we need to get started. You can now start setting up flows and widgets to streamline your file management and sharing in Salesforce. Check the next section for more resources.
Step 3. Connect a folder / file to Salesforce record
Now that your setup is complete, you can use the CloudFiles widget to link an external folder or file onto a Salesforce record. This will enable you to see the folder contents, search, edit, upload & preview files etc.. all from within Salesforce.
This is a simple 2-min process. You can also see detailed instructions with screenshots in our quick start guide. The guide also shows how folder connection and linking can be easily automated.
Here is a summary of the steps required -
- Go to any record, edit page from Setup to enter lightning builder
- Drag and Drop the 'CloudFiles' widget into a newly created tab.
- Save & Exit the builder. Make sure to activate the page so you see the newly added tab on your record.
- Use widget's 'Link file / folder' button to link a file or folder from any cloud storage
